The biggest exhibition of some of best art in West Wales returns to Rhosygilwen this summer from the 10 July (midday) to the evening of 12 July. The exhibition is not only a feast for art buyers but also great fun for those wishing to partake in many of the workshops, master classes and demonstrations.
The event is the brainchild of Pauline Latham and two other fellow artists Sarah Sharp and Liz Cox who have worked tirelessly over the last 6 months to make this event even better that last year’s. ‘Come rain, hail or brilliant sunshine, we’re going to have a ball,’ said Pauline confident that this year will surpass the expectations of anyone who comes to Art At ‘09.
Some of the region’s most sought after artists like David Tress and Mary Lloyd Jones will be exhibiting their work along with 70 others showing paintings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics and a range of other craft items.
This will take place in the Oak Hall, ideal for an exhibition of this calibre, and in marquees, gazebos and other locations around the splendid gardens of Rhosygilwen recently featured in the Gardens of Wales book published this year. This is the perfect day out for you and your friends and family to enjoy and could also be the perfect treasure trove for the art bargain hunter.
It is said that there is something about the environs of Pembrokeshire that seems to gather an unusually high concentration of artists of extraordinary calibre. ‘It’s such a pity that Visit Wales and their agents do not promote this more actively,’ says Pauline.
The entrance is £3, £2 for concessions. The master classes cost £25 (£20 concessions). For more details on the Master classes phone 01239 612560 or go to the exhibition web site www.artat.org.uk
